GMAIL oddity

Why is it that when I send an email on my iPhone using my gmail account, that I get the same email I sent in my inbox? Only on the iPhone does this happen. On the gmail website I dont see this problem.

You dont "turn on" Yahoo push. It just works. You have to configure your account using the Yahoo Mail shortcut on the iPhone, thats it.

Yahoo has been having spotty service since the iPhone launch. There are NO options you can set on the iPhone - just your user ID and password, thats it. If its not working, its Yahoo's fault, not yours.

The work around to this is to use the POP mail
service on the iPhone.

Since you are using the direct e-mail service for
Gmail, this would happen, however if you use the POP
service (which is free from Gmail) it would not
happen.

I dont understand this answer. GMail IS POP. Yahoo is the one that is NOT POP unless you get the paid version. Yahoo free accounts can only be accessed through the web, and now, since the iPhone launch, they have added IMAP access from the iPhone ONLY.

This workaround has been mentioned before and unfortunately does not fix the problem for me. I tried both manually adding a gMail account and using iPhone's automated set-up...with neither fixing the problem.

I found the following article:

iPhone: About Gmail and Recent Mode
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305937

When sending Gmail from iPhone, the sent message will show up as a new message in your iPhone Inbox as if you have cc'd yourself. If you don't want this behavior, try turning "Use Recent Mode" off.
