Cannot Backup Library - Unknown error occurred (261)

I used to be able to burn my library to DVD but now I receive the error: Unknown error occurred (261)

DVDs are good, Burner is good (I can still burn using Roxio)

I found an article regarding this at:
http://www.blue42.net/article.php?id=32

However I do not have any playlist names with 'invalid' characters in them.

HELP!

Rest assured, your music is SAFE. I personally know of over 60 people who have done this procedure so far.

Your music is in the \MY MUSIC\ITUNES\ folder. The Itunes program is in the \PROGRAM FILES\ITUNES\ folder. One has nothing to do with the other.

In fact, when Apple tells you there is a new update and you say YES, their software does and uninstall and then an install automatically. You are just doing the same thing but doing it manually.

Consider this. You can remove PowerPoint and MSWord from your computer and the presentations and documents you have on your computer are untouched. Removing software does not remove data files.

Your music, your playlist, your counts will be exactly as they were the moment before you downloaded 7.3.

It has worked for so many people. Get yourself back to the last solid working version (7.2) and life will be beautiful again.

ATTENTION

Obviously, Apple will not be sharing this information with all of you since it does not appear that they post any useful information on the forum.

*I have just been personally informed that VERSION 7.3.2 is to be released in the next 48 hours. I was assured that the backup function will be working correctly.*

Try it out. If it works fine, keep it. If there are still problems, just go back to version 7.2 and keep it forever. I know I will.

Quick update

The corrected version is due out by 7:00 AM EST TODAY.

Please post about how to made out so all of us will know if it is worth downloading it. I will be on the road today or I would offer to do so myself.

I apparently made a friend at Apple support who has kept me aware of the progress made with the proglem. Persistence pay off.

Good luck everyone.

Jeff
