Artist sort with iTunes 7.3

I have a sorting problem in iTunes 7.3. In French "Le" is "The" in English. And so now, Led Zeppelin is sorted at D and no more at L. I tried to force the sort field but as it is automatic, It doesn't work. Have English people find something like that e.g. For the Rolling Stones Album "their Satanic Majesties" sorted whit 'i' (In French iTunes 'The' isn't automatically recognized but it would great if this feature was activated

Sure that will work, but it's a hassle to have to
change these every time I get a new file. It's no
longer automatic sorting if you have to double check
the sort order yourself, especially with a large
library.

About one half of one percent of my songs start with numbers. It doesn't seem like much of a hassle to me, particularly since I already change the Sort Artist fields to alphabetize my library by last name.

Thanks. I did what you said, and now my iTunes playlist is back to normal (yay)! However, when I attempted to sync the playlist to my iPod mini, the songs beginning with numbers still end up at the bottom of my alphabetical track list. My iPod nano, however, accepted the info fine. Could this simply be because I uploaded to an older iPod?

I'm still bummed that this problem even came up at all, but hey, what can you do, I guess.

I dunno — maybe older iPods don't recognize the Sorting fields. Is its software up-to-date?
