Difficulty connecting Iphone to Garmin GPS using bluetooth

Has anyone had success connecting a Garmin GPS (e.g. nuvi or streetpilot) to the Iphone, using the bluetooth headset/handsfree profile?

I've got a Nuvi 670 and have tried to connect to the Iphone, unsuccessfully. The Nuvi can see the Iphone and awaits verification of the password. On the Iphone, the password prompt does not show up, even though the Iphone can see the nuvi, it doesn't seem to be able to pair with the nuvi. Any thought/ideas?

The nuvi doesn't use the standard 0000 password, which I'm thinking may be the problem.

I got my garmin C550 paired with my iphone and it works very well. It even recognizes more than one number for any one person in the directory and the volume is also loud and the person on the other line hear's me just fine. My issue at the moment is my iphone at times will not pair at all and I end up going throught the process of deleting the iPhone in my c550 and go through the whole recognition process again. Also sometimes when I use my iPhone to call someone it will ask me if I wnt to use my streetpilot, speakerphone or iPhone. I am not even now where close to my car.

Jack and other readers. I don't need a list of steps to get my iPhone working with the GPS.

It took me all of five minutes to get my iPhone paired with my Garmin Streetpilot c550. It loaded the address book as well and the phone works flawlessly and automatically with the Garmin. Just fantastic! In my tests I used the built in Garmin speaker, but tomorrow I'm having it hardwired in my car so that it will work over the car's speaker system.

The Nuvi line of GPS will pair up with the iPhone perfectly.

If you can't get your phone to pair up, you may have to put your GPS in maintenance mode for a few minutes to reset the Bluetooth.

To do this, touch the speed indicator and this should take you to the "dashboard" where the trip details are listed such as total moving time etc. Put your finger in the middle of the screen and leave it there till the maintenance mode comes on. Flip the through the screens there using the next button till you see the update blutetooth PR screen appears and hit update PR. It will show that it is doing a software update a moment then restart.

Now don't do anything else with the GPS other than to make sure the Bluetooth is on.

Go into the settings on the phone and set the Bluetooth to on. In a few seconds it will find the GPS and select it. The GPS will tell you it's code and then the phone will popup a screen to allow you to enter this code. Enter it and now the phone is paired up with the GPS!

Your phone book and last received as well as missed calls will show up on the Nuvi. You can also dial and hear calls on your Nuvi as well as answer calls!

It works perfectly! I have a Nuvi 680, it works! Enjoy.
