Runtime Error for MS Visual C++ Runtime Library

I am having exactly the same problem 😟. I have tried everything: re installing iTunes, restarting my PC etc. and I get nowhere!

I've got the same issue. That's 3 people, a new problem, and all on the same day. Apple may want to accelerate itss response to this problem.

More than three.

Uninstall/re-install - same.

Uninstall/install older version (7.2) - same.

Uninstall Safari / reinstall 7.3 - same.

Not sure which of my recent auto-updates might have clobbered this. Only (recent) manual installs have been iTunes /Safari updates.

I had the same problem in iTunes 7.2. All I did was simply upgrade to 7.3 through the apple software updater. I even have Safari 3.02 installed, and I didn't have to remove that.

I'm from Madrid, Spain, and I have the same problem than yours. It is very strange that this problem appears the same day in different computers.

It seems a virus made for iTunes. I will wait a solution, thanks

I got the same error message this morning. Eager to see why.

Chalk up another one to the growing list...Nothing seems to correct this issue...uninstall, reinstall, upgrade, downgrade...I'm sure it's some goofy MS update or some such thing that's fried the app.

Patiently waiting for a fix...

i had ur problem too and know how u solve it!
just do the following steps and u can use ur itunes again:
1. go to ur windows software menu.
2. click repair at: itunes, quicktime and apple software update.
3. start => all programs => appple software update
4. install the available updates (should be itunes + quicktime)
5. be happy about being able to use itunes again 🙂

i also have the same prob. when trying to update itunes, it works ok the rest of the time but crashes with that message when i tried to update it from 7.2 to 7.3, now apple software updates wont work and repairing it does not fix it

Hi everyone. This seems to a a problem with the Apple Updater program. If you rename file C:\Program Files\Apple Software Update\SoftwareUpdate.exe to say C:\Program Files\Apple Software Update\__SoftwareUpdate.exe or any thing else the problem seems to go away. Then after iTunes has started you can close iTunes, and return the file to its original name and everything works fine.

Wow, that worked! So, the error that is happening is when Apple Software Update is looking for an update? I'll just not update for now I guess :-P

I was able to get my iTunes working again after removing both iTunes and Quicktime. I then reinstalled the latest version of iTunes without further problems.
