Bluetooth

My bluetooth connection works in my Audi A6 but it needs to be reset/paired when I get in the car. It does not seem to discover my iPhone bluetooth signal on its own. Any thoughts?

Same issue. I have an 2006 Acura TSX and when I make a phone call it gives me a source list, when I press the Handsfree Link it does nothing. However, when I answer the call and I press the Handsfree it does activate, but the audio is terrible (according to the person on the other end I sounded far).

I have a previous LG phone and audio quality was not that big of an issue.

My 2004 Acura TL seems to discover it automatically. I was in and out of the car several times yesterday w/out any problems. Maybe it has something to do with the way the phones were paired? I initiated from the car, but I don't know if there's any other way. I did notice that when the phone sleeps it disconnects from Bluetooth. My battery life was greatly diminished, however. It lasted only 7 hours yesterday. The only difference from Sunday was about 2.5 hours in my car so I'm not sure what's up with that.

I have a Motorola headset and have noticed some interesting behavior.

only one Bluetooth device can be connected at a time.

if you have a Bluetooth device connected and you answer the phone by touching the screen and not the headset answer button, the audio is routed to the phone and you must mannually change it back to the headset.

When you answer the call from the headset the phone answer with audio routed to the phone for a couple of secends before routing the audio to the headset. This makes it so that often the other party is on their second hello before you are on your first.

It sounds to me like the issues with the car kits might be related.

I've got my iPhone and '06-325xi paired up. I've run into similar issues around it not pairing up again with the car, I think it occurs only in certain situations. It may be that the phone is inactivating the bluetooth radio if it doesn't find a discoverable item over the course of a certain amount of time, possibly to save battery? I dunno, but I noticed that it worked fine prior to me charging the phone overnight too. Yesterday after leaving work the phone and car paired up fine on start-up of the car. But last night I charged the phone and then this morning I had to re-pair the two.

Also, I've noticed that people tend to not hear me well over the iphone bluetooth also, I didn't have this problem with my prior Audiovox phone.

I have the same issues with my 2007 Audi S6. Tried turning off WiFi, tried re-pairing, try increasing screen timeout all to no avail. Finally started plugging in phone to car charger and have had no problems. iPhone must have some power saving feature or low output on bluetooth end that will hopefully be corrected with software in the future.

My 2007 BMW 650i pairs with my iPhone just fine.

The system works great with outbound calls.

The only real issue i appear to be having is with voice messages. I hit the Audio Source button (BMW, iPhone, Speaker) and none of the choices produce sound.

Any readers of this forum experiencing this issue?

Same issue here. I've got a Pioneer head unit with bluetooth hands-free built in (DEHP980BT). I have to re-initate the connection manually from the head unit everytime I get in the car. With my Nokia it re-connected automatically. I never had to touch anything.

Also the lack of the ability to tranfer contacts via bluetooth really ***** because that means I cant make calls from the head unit (no other way to build an address book in it).

Same issue here - 2006 Audi A3. My phone pairs with the car when I get in but will usually disconnect a minute or two later. Sometimes it will re-pair while I'm driving, sometimes not. Seems like a sporadic problem rather than the phone going into standby or something. I did a full restore but it hasn't solved the problem. Also, after the phone and car lose their connection to each other the phone still indicated that it is paired with the car, even though it's not...

I didn't have any problem with previous phones pairing with the car (Motorola, Samsung).

Anyone have any other suggestions?
