Bluetooth

My bluetooth connection works in my Audi A6 but it needs to be reset/paired when I get in the car. It does not seem to discover my iPhone bluetooth signal on its own. Any thoughts?

I have an Audi A4 and the phone connected perfectly fine and works fine over the bluetooth when it is connected. The audio buzzes a little when it first starts a a phone call but then improves. The problem it seems with all of us Audi users is that it disconnects randomly, I even had mine disconnect while I was in a phone call and then reconnected about a minute later. It isn't a distance issue, I put the phone in the cup holder and you can't put it much closer than that. I keep it plugged in too. I haven't messed with the autoshut-off, although if it is disconnecting while in the middle of a phone call I think the bluetooh has bugs in it.

I have a bmw 335I 2007 and have no problems with pairing to the car, having it stay paired, or making/receiving calls. The problem I do have is that I don't hear everything the caller is saying nor do they hear everything I am saying. The car shows that I have sufficient signal strength but it seems that there isn't a full constant connection during a call. Anyone similar?

I experience the same issue with my 2005 TL. It re-pairs automatically when you enter the vehicle, but when you hit the call button (after observing that the phone icon on the dash is lit, indicating a paired phone) and speak your number, the phone suddenly unpairs, and you hear: "No Phones have been found." So, you cancel out of HandsfreeLink and 20 seconds later, it re-pairs. I have two theories: Some sort of sleep mode on the phone to save the battery, or proximity of the phone to the car's system. Seems to work better when I take the phone out of side holster and place it on dash or in front of me. Such is the life of a beta tester. 🙂

Just a theory, but I think visual voicemail only works through the phone's speaker because it does not actually make a phone call to play back your message (it's like an audible e-mail). That's why it won't initiate through the car's bluetooth system. However, I am able to hear my voicemails through the car's system the old fashioned way: I call my voicemail number and listen to them in order.

I have a UK iphone with the new software and it pairs OK with my Audi A6, doesn't drop connection or anything ike that. But how did you get the Audi to pick up contacts - I've never managed to do that since I gave up an Audi approved phon (Sony Ericsson) where all functions worked perfectly over bluetooth.
Have you found a way of playing the ipod functions through your radio? There doesn't seem to be an audio out on the usb connection so my fm transmitter I used for an ipod don't work. Also, th belkin in-car charger sold by Apple causes interference on my fm radio. Anybody else get that?
