Call Forwarding Message on Outgoing Calls

Everytime I place an outgoing call a text box pops up and says "Call Forwarding Enabled. Dismiss?" I dismiss and the call goes ahead as planned. I have not enable call forwarding in settings and I have checked and double checked that it is not enabled, yet I still get this message when placing a call. Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks

No, but my car has nothing to do with my iPhone. AT&T is the service provider for my iPhone, and is partnering with Apple to provide a unique product offering. One of Apple's main goals for the iPhone was to provide an unbeatable UI which distinguishes the product from other companies. This issue is a UI problem in my eyes, which may have started with AT&T but is processed my the iPhone software which determines how the messages/errors are handled and displayed on the screen.

Apple has just as much to do with this problem as AT&T, regardless of who's fault you think it is. I don't care how it gets fixed, or who is to blame, I just want a workaround.

I will not determine who I call based on fault, but rather who I think with get the problem resolved the most quickly.

OK I just got back from going to AT&T where rhey told that in certain calling areas your phone displays that message to let you know that if someone should happen to call at the exact same time you are placing an outgoing call that it wll automatically be forwarded to your voice mail. The next question I had was how do you make it stop... well you can't it is a system thing in certain areas. I think it is a bit of over kill for the few seconds it takes to place a call. I did find out hough that you don't have to push dismiss it will just go away once your call is going through (not answered just being placed). So long story short (sorta) it is an AT&T thing and it is not just an iPhone thing apparently it is with other phones too. I guess this is a way to learn some patience and if this is the only problem I have with my iPhone then I am VERY HAPPY with it.

Thanks for the information, although I don't agree with your assessment. My wife has a Sony Ericson phone, we use the phones in the exact same areas and she NEVER has to deal with messages like this.

I am sure that AT&T provides the messages, but the iPhone (and it's software) is what decides how to display that message. It is not the service because not every phone suffers from the same ailments!

My husbands Pantech c3b does it to. So it has to be the service. It is something that AT&T has put in to apparently most of the phones but not all. I was told that there is no way to make it go away. I guess all we can do is call and complain about it and maybe they will make it go away for everyone. There are many reasons though that your wifes phone doesn't do it. It is certainly not just an iPhone thing.

Based on the information you are giving me I would say that the most likely situation is that AT&T sends this message to any phone that is in this type of area. The phone, takes this message, and depending on its software, either displays it in an annoying fashion as you are making the call or does nothing with it. It is completely up to the phone's software how the message is handled.

What I am saying, is that for a $600 phone, i would like to decide if this type of worthless message is displayed or not. I personally (and apparently many other people) do not like the fact that it shows up and I am just making this point known.

It is not AT&T's job to fix the UI of the iPhone... they send the message and let the phone makers determine what to do with it. I just happen not to care for the way that Apple does it.

Maybe there is a perfectly good reason for it... I just wish I knew what that is.

Also, this does not explain the multitude of other problems I have been ahving with call forwarding.
