Can someone tell me what is the acceptable temperature range for the iMac G5 for both the hard drive (mine is currently at 114.8 degrees F) and the CPU T-Diode (mine is currently 145.8 degrees F). I am using X-Resource Graph. Thanks

west212 here. It is (over) a month later and I spent a lot of time ferrying the machine back and forth to repair shop. I had my logic board replaced three times and my power supply replaced once. None of these fixes worked. Apple is now working with me to rectify the issue.
My system log had been reporting "Emergency Overtemp signal reported. Putting machine to sleep" sometimes and "Max temperature exceeded for 30 seconds. Putting machine to sleep" at other times... The machine was emitting heat beyond normal. The experts at the repair shop could not fix the problem.
Time for you to ask Apple to replace them machine with a new one - you've had more than your limit (3) of repairs, and are certainly due something from them. Be nice, but firm, others have succeeded and you will too.
I wasn't going to mention it, but, yes, Apple is indeed replacing the machine (with Intel Inside)... I didn't even have to be firm! They were very helpful. I hope I won't be back here to the forums. Thanks for all the replies and suggestions!
