Component to SCART?

Please help. I recently got an Apple TV. My TV does not have a HDMI or component connection so what I did was get a component to SCART convertor so I can connect the component part of the cable to the ATV and the SCART to my TV? Problem is I am still getting nothing other than a black screen? Can anyone help?

Ali.

Mmmm

They've come down in price, and I'm not just referring to the discount as reported by that site. It was only a month or so ago I looked up these devices and saw them selling for £ 150. At the time I compared them to a £179 32" LCD HDTV and I said I wouldn't bother with the converter, but now I'd have a difficult choice. SDTV by converted component for £ 90 or HDTV by HDMI for £ 179.00

Which box are you going to take.

Firstly, I'd check the specs of your TV. Some of them accept component over SCART, which would be a simple lead to buy. Component might also be called YUV, etc.

However, if your scart is only capable of composite or RGB, then you will need a converter.

I've (Helpfully) put together some of the more popular converters with links here:

Hope that helps
