InFocus HD Projector - Apple TV only offers 480P

Hi,

Every component that I've hooked up to my InFocus projector is able to display 1080i, 720P or even 480P to my projector (PS3, Cable Box, Upconverting Toshiba DVD player).

My Apple TV however only gives the option to display 480P, I've even tried to force it to cycle trhough the resolutions and it will not give me any option beyond 480P. It's really strange because every other component using the same HDMI cable is able to output 1080i. Even stranger is the fact that I can take the Apple TV and hook it up to my Sharp Aquos and it will happily output at 1080i.

Any ideas what's going on?

It would appear that the projector is not telling the tv what resolutions it can support or the tv isn't receiving the information. Have you tried another HDMI cable, even though you've tried the same HDMI cable on other equipment, have you tried component.

Might be worth checking if there've been any firmware upgrades for the InFocus - if so check to see if any of them offer better HDMI compatibility.

Which projector is it btw?

I tried Component, and all the resoloutions were avaiable. Strange why HDMI doesn't support the same resoloutions.

It could just be a bad HDMI cable.
