Setting up yahoo as my default email...

I'm trying to set my macbook up so that when I click on an html or email address I'm taken to yahoo mail instead of .mac mail. I don't have .mac so everytime I try sending an email by clicking on someone's email address I'm taken to .mac where I get errors and end up having to cut and paste the email address then go to yahoo and send my email from there....HELP!! I can't find an answer to this anywhere.

macbook, Mac OS X (10.4.10)

Hi

Do you use the paid Yahoo Mail service, or the free version? The free version doesn't let you use POP clients like Apple Mail, you can only use a web browser to access your mail account.

In that case, there's no way to click on an email address and have your Yahoo webmail page come up.

If you have the paid version (Yahoo Plus), you can set up Apple Mail to send and receive Yahoo email. Look here for instructions.

This doesn’t make sense. You appear to be calling “.mac” the Mail application included with Mac OS X, which is actually a standard POP & IMAP mail client that can be used to access any mail account that provides POP or IMAP access...

That said, the following is probably what you’re looking for:
