ITunes 7.3.1 STILL not resolving Itunes freeze-up

When I installed 7.3 the other day, every time I go into ITunes the application freezes up. I see all my songs in the grid, but I cannot click on anything nor navigate within the application. My only choice is to go to Task Manager and kill the application.

I saw that there was a 7.3.1 update out today, and I was excited thinking that this would resolve the problem. It didn't. I installed 7.3.1, rebooted, launched Itunes and had the exact same problem.

This was working just fine until 7.3, I'm looking for a resolution that will allow me to fix the application without having to uninstall, reinstall and then reselect all the songs I want selected for my ipod sync.

Here's my most recent report for the Vista problem log:

Description

how did you uninstall and reinstall without losing your music?

Simply go to the Windows Control Panel, and use the Add/Remove Programs to remove Itunes 7.3. Uninstallation process doesn't remove your music files, your itunes library or your itunes settings.
Use the link to filehippo, you can find elsewhere in this thread to download itunes 7.2. Install it. You will recover all your settings.

In my case, I retrieved all my library correctly. It works fine, as before. Expect 10 music files, that were not pointed correctly by the itunes library. I do not know why... Maybe they are the ones I've converted to Itunes Plus (MP3 without DRM). With itunes, it is easy to recreate the pointer correctly.

I am having the same problem. everytime I open iTunes it starts to uodate my library and stops about 3/4 of the way through and locks up. I have to use the windows task manager to close it. I have uninstalled the program and installed versions below 7.1 and they work fine but any version above 7.1 (which is what I need to sync to my AppleTV) all locj up at the same place.
