Flip photo horizontally?

Hello,

is there any way to flip a photo horizontally? Wheather with iP6 or iMovie.

I just did it last week, but I have forgotten how I achieved it. i'm looking all over but can't seem to find it again!

Michel:

You can do a Mirror Image in a book, calendar or card (Control-click on the image) but it will only appear in that entity, not the main library. Don't know of any way in iMovie.

User uploaded fileDo you Twango?

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

Thank You!
I just knew it had to be something other than what I was doing! It was supposed to work well on PPC Macs. It looks as if we are out of luck with an update for it.....I came across this posting on Version Tracker:

+Unfortunately, this CM item was written for PPC, and CM items don't work in Rosetta. There's no way to get this to work for Intel Macs.+
+And the developer hasn't updated this *otherwise perfect * utility in over two years, and will not respond to emails.+
+I think it's dead. I wish the developer would release the code so that someone knowledgeable can recompile for Intel Macs.+
+I don't think the developer knows how great this product was and how many people depended on it.+
+I would personally pay $50 to get this working on my MacBook.+

I would buy it as well if it worked for me.

I guess I will have to rescan my backwards slides, or flip them after I get them into iMovie. I have cf/x and Gee Three plug-ins for that.

well, i think the programmers just forgot to implement a "mirror image" tool in the iPhoto 8 editor. i hope we will get this absolutely urgent feature in a next release!

the way around by dragging the picture to the desktop, using a tool like graphic converter, reimporting it, deleting the unflipped photo can't be the way we will have to live with for all future......

hope flip/mirror image will be implemented very soon!

I don't think they "forgot" this feature (and I don't think it's "absolutely urgent" myself, but there you go...) You have no hope getting it included in the next release unless you tell the developers that you want it: iPhoto Menu -> Provide iPhoto Feedback

the way around by dragging the picture to the desktop, using a tool like graphic converter, reimporting it, deleting the unflipped photo can't be the way we will have to live with for all future....

You can set Graphic Converter (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in GC, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically.

Rather less complicated than the export / flip / import option.
