Part of touch screen failing

I'm having an issue where a strip of the screen about 1/2 inch from the top and 1/2 inch tall all the way across the screen that will not accept input. It ususally does nothing when touched, but will occasionally register a touch with other things on the screen. I've restarted, rebooted and cleaned and nothing seems to help. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Mine did this yesterday. It is right where many dialog inputs are and basically the whole top row of the keyboard. I thought sending it in to Apple would be an easy trip down to the Apple store, but no, they are making me mail it in and charging me $30 to use a replacement while it is being repaired. I'm not happy at all!

Greetings everyone,

This happened shortly after I applied the 1.1.1 Update. The Space Bar, Alpha Numeric key and the Return are not functioning at all. So is sending it in to Apple the way to go?

Mine to about 2 days after update 1.1.1 bottom 1/2 inch cant use any buttons cant even make a call.

I'm also having this problem. On the phone keypad the 1,2, and 3 doesn't work. It just stopped responding all of a sudden. Strange, unacceptable!
