Ipod vs. Iphone Sound Quality?

Just curious...for those that hear a better sound, are you using the Apple earbuds or ??


I bought on of those Belkin earphone adaptrers. I'm wondering why they made it so long??!!

I'm using some Sony with the silicone earbuds. Haven't come to any conclusions as to whether the sound is better or not. I'll be traveling this next week and will be taking the iPod and iPhone.

I tried this for the first time today. I connected in to my stereo via an aux input. I had the volume up all the way on the iPhone iPod and I had to turn the volume up more on the radio than with my 30g Video iPod.

To me, at this point, the 30g's volume is louder.

The sound quality is much better on the iPhone than any previous iPod incarnation. It is not, however, louder. I think the sound quality itself is amazing. It is the same wether you use the supplied earphones or with your own (and adapter). The sound quality itself is better.

There is a difference between quality and volume. You can crank the volume on any iPod in the USA much louder (you can not in Europe, where there are volume delimiters in place for MP3 players).

I have to say that it is much better. I have a 30gb video iPod and I personally think the volume, quality, etc. is much better.

I hear the bass notes a little more defined on the iPhone, all the other frequencies sound about the same.

I know nothing about any difference with the sound chip but to my ears the iPhone's sound is better but - not significantly better but this might be my imagination only.
