alarm clock vibrate only

is there a way to set the alarm clock to go off with vibrate only? when i select "none" for the alarm clock sound, this seems to turn the vibrate mode off too.

I think you are correct that this is a bug. On the last 4 phones I have owned when putting it in silent mode it would vibrate instead of any noise no matter what alert it was for. There are a lot of times when I am in a meeting but still need my phone to be functional, without disturbing others in the meeting. Be it an alarm or a call or knowing I got a message. Also on the plane I still put my phone in 'silent' mode even if the phone part is off so any alarms I may have set would not make noise.

I think we need to post about it in the iphone feedback section.

Ron's idea won't do it. When you flip the switch on the side, it only silences the ringer sound. Alarms and messages still will pulse their sound.

I don't think you can do it. If you turn sounds to NONE, then you just get a popup. And there is no VIBRATE sound option for the Alarm. Nope, don't think so.

ok, so i think i just figured out a work around, but i don't like it very much.

if i set the alarm to go off with a sound, then toggle the ringer volume switch on the side of the phone all the way down, then the alarm will go off with just vibrate. but then i have to remember to toggle the switch back up. not cool.

so i think this may qualify as a bug. don't you?

how do i ask apple to fix this in the next update?

Try leaving all your sound settings up as loud as they go -- then turn off the sound from the button on the left side of the phone.

Test before relying on this though.

i tried this before, and just tried it again. even with the switch on the side of the phone set for silent mode, the alarm will still sound.

In the clock settings, click on "alarm" click on the + then you click on the sound setting there, then you can select "none". There should then be no sound.
