iPhone + Bluetooth + Parrot CK3100 Built In Handsfree = Flaky Connection

I had a Parrot CK3100 handsfree bluetooth built into my car and it works right through the stereo speakers, mutes the radio when calls come in, etc. Previous to the iPhone, I was using a Treo 650 with it. Never a problem connecting or maintaining a connection. Now with the iPhone, I'd say it connects about 50% of the time - even though they are paired successfully. The only way to get it to connect is to unpair and repair. Also, I find that I can be on a call through the handsfree and it will just disconnect and drop. Any thoughts out there?

Phone works with my friends system but he can not use the old contacts for voice command dialing that were in the parrot. Can you use yours? Thanks

I had to re-record them actually. But one contact (voice mail) that has a string of numbers programmed in, does not work through the Parrot.

I'm having the same problem, only way to connect is to unpair, re-pair using Parrot PIN, which is 1234.

Don't most cell phones have an Bluetoooth command which is "Always Allow pairing with this device"? I could not find that option in iphone.

you would think. i spoke to a tech at parrot U.S. - he said they just got it on the 29th along with everyone else and are testing it to see what they may need to do for better compatibility. the other weird thing is every time I do manage to connect, the little wheel thing on the Parrot display spins forever trying to sync with the iPhone.

yes, I guess they did some testing. only thing they can't seem to figure out is why it won't hold the connection.

unfortunately you are not the lone ranger. i get intermittant pairing with the motorola S9 bluetooth headset. it works great with the moto Q. with the moto Q you can do voice dialing, play the MP3 and use the phone --- hands free.

i wish the iphone would do this. i have yet to find any hands free system that connects via bluetooth that the iphone will let you control the phone functions and the ipod functions.

maybe next lifetime.

There are various "theories" on how to maintain the connection:

1. Turn wifi off.
2. Set the sleep interval to "never".
3. Get an auto power adapter to provide power.
4. Combinations of 1, 2, and 3.

I had a problem with two Iphones and two different BMWs. Turning off the WiFi fixed the intermittent bluetooth connection. Apparently the WiFi "walks" on the bluetooth.

There seems to be a lot of people with Iphone bluetooth problems. Perhaps Apple should test the WiFi On/Off issue and comment.
