brand new use - error 2908 in loading itunes

I am allowing pop up, sorted out the accelerator as on aol. using internet explorer instead. tried just downloading the quicktime bit only, but that fails as it want me to verify sufficient access to a key.

P**ssed off with apple and itunes - not a good experience so far. All it want to do is load the itunes software.

searched forums for error code 2908, return no topics

Help please - surely it shouldn't be this hard

It sounds as though things have got in a bit of a muddle, it might be a good idea to satrt again.

Log in as adminstrator and completely remove iTunes and Quicktime using the following method:

Restart your PC and again logged in as adminstrator, download the latest iTunes and see if it will install this time.

Let me know how you get on.

OK I misunderstood you, I thought you had successfully downloaded the installer and were having problems with installing.

Just to be sure I have understood you this time.

You can't download the iTunes installer from here:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

And you get your error message when you try?

Have you established if this is specifically an iTunes problem or a general problem with downloading.
Can you download the stand alone quicktime from here:
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/

Are you able to download from other sites?
