Purple Line on my iMac Screen

Hi, i got a serious problem and i need help.
Sometimes when i'm using my mac, it appears a very thin purple line! And in a randomly space of time it disapears. My first thought was like "OMG! Calm down... maybe that's broken pixels." So i used a widget called PIXEL FIX to fix the pixels, but nothing happened. When i put to sleep the line disapears for like 2 seconds.
When i was writing this thread there was no line, and then the line appeared again.

I have a 17" iMac G5 with 4 colored vertical lines. It is very annoying. I was two months over my guarantee but Apple-Ecuador ignored my problem. I have purchased an additional screen to work with. I am a photographer the screen is very important and those lines are annoying. I am disappointed by apple for the first time.

Hi,
I have a purple line going down the middle of my screen and was wondering what you ended up having to do in order to fix the problem. I have been on the phone for 2 hrs with apple care tech support and noone can seem to help me with the problem. They've told me to take the screen into a repair center but I need a bit more information than that.
