I have been searching for a content filter for my iPhone, but I have not found one. Does anyone have a suggestion how to keep adult content off the phone (and I'm talking about whether wi-fi or edge connected).

Thanks,
Blake

bwhite99,

First of all, I would like to say to you that it takes a good amount of courage and humility to be straight up and real on a thread like this, and I am encouraged and blessed to see you step up to the plate with a struggle that you have in your life, and how owning an iPhone can either be a benefit or detriment in helping you overcome it. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Unfortunately, the iPhone does not have built-in material that I know of that could keep that content out.

"How does a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your Word." -- PSALM 119:9

That's where it really starts. It's not religion, it's a strength that surpasses all human understanding. It's not about self-loathing or "showing restraint" or "growing up"... it's about confronting the issue at hand and seeking support like you are, in order to help overcome this struggle. I truly respect your continuing devotion and commitment to your wife, and it inspires me to do the same when I grow older and end up getting married myself.

God bless. Keep us updated if you do find something for the iPhone.

Thanks for the encouragement. I have a renewed relationship with Jesus Christ which is what I always needed....he just had to hit me over the head a few times for me to realize I was walking the wrong road for myself and my family.

I ended up returning the iPhone to Apple...and I consider it a victory to avoid being like the world and honoring my Lord and Savior with this decision.

Yes, we are serious about this. People like bwhite99 and myself are iPhone owners who are believers in a faith system, or as others like to call it, "religion". I'm sorry that we scare you with our concerns over how Safari on the iPhone affects us personally. He was serious enough to admit it, and he was serious enough to return the iPhone because it wasn't for him.

This is a user-to-user support forum. Bwhite was concerned with the iPhone's internet browser. Upon further questioning, we discovered the nature and reasoning for his plight on this forum was "religious" in nature. Unlike your tasteless comment, his question was met with some helpful suggestions and encouragement from other users. (i.e. Proxies, content blocking, even therapy?)

However, "You may not post to the Site Public Submissions that (1) consist of criticisms ... directed to another person's race, national origin, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or comparable characteristic.."

We did not break any rules, we stuck to the topic and a number of us discussed our backgrounds. Yet you imply that this extraneous "religious discussion" is inappropriate. I find your critical statement to be just that ... inappropriate.
