Can't connect to NAS - AFP protocol incompatibility

Hello,
I just bought a Buffalo LinkStation NAS - connected to a Linksys Gigabit ethernet router - to a PowerMac G5. The disk shows up in Network, but when I click to connect, I get this message:

"Connection failed. This file server uses an incompatible version of the AFP protocol. You cannot connect to it."

I can't find anything on Buffalo's support site, anyone familar with this problem? Thanks.

Try connecting to this drive using
SMB://[IP_address]
or
SMB://[Disk_Name]
instead of AFP://[etcetera]

AFP=AppleFIle Protocol. This seems not to be supported much anymore.

(If this drive is only going to be used for Mac's, investigate reformatting the partition as "MacOS Extended", using DiskUtility on your Mac, or the utility software that might have come with the drive.
