MBP and clear nail polish

Weird combination but i was wondering if it would be safe to use clear nail polish on the top of the MBP to seal a sticker i placed on it. can i safely apply it without ruining the finish or the material that the MBP is made of?

User uploaded fileIf nail polish does in fact seal stickers well in general and you like its finish then I can't see any reason not to use it on your MBP.

However, there's always a risk of the polish's chemicals interacting poorly with your MBPs finish and potentially its heat. So to safeguard against these I would maybe try a really small spot on the bottom of your MBP and see how it goes after a week or so. If it turns out your MBP doesn't like polish then you've only ruined a small spot on the bottom.

Quote: STRONGLY recommend that you don't use nail polish to "seal" a sticker on your MBP. If you absolutely have to seal it then use some clear packing tape and cover the sticker. Whatever you do, do not use nail polish.

This sort of response is amusing. If he wants to use nail polish then use nail polish. It is not battery acid or flaming gasoline. It's nail polish. No more ornery than the glue on the stickers probably. I understand people actually paint it directly on parts of their body and live.
