iphone and radio interference?

I have had Verizon phones for years and this is the 1st time this has happened to me.

Seems like the iphone makes some sort of interference on my radio in my car every few minutes and especially when a call is coming in?

Also I have noticed this on my wireless home phone when the iphone is near? Bugs the crap out of me. BTW Iphone is great

I agree with a few of the posts... this is a GSM issue not an iPhone issue. The first time I ever noticed this interference was after I got my new job 2 months ago. I had Verizon everyone else had Cingular/AT&T I always new when someone was about to receive a call because the speakers on my computer would buzz.... nobody in my office has an iPhone... well that is except for me. I paid the early cancellation fee and got out of my Verizon contract... I couldn't be happier with AT&T and my new iPhone!!!

Yup! This thing interferes w/ my desk phone, computer monitor, etc....

The really funny thing is, when the iPhone is either receiving a call or text message, or checking e-mail, it will actually start the motor in the paper shredder below my desk.... I call it the Enron feature! LOL!

This is REALLY annoying! My Verizon phone NEVER did this.... It really makes me worried to be putting this thing next to my head..... I have heard that the max transmit power on a GSM phone is 600 mW vs a maximum of only 200 mW on a Verizon/CDMA phone. No wonder why all the GSM systems are trying to convert to CDMA (3G)....

Be that as it may, by virtue of inheriting some of these GSM 'issues' it does make the iPhone faulty in itself. It is unfortunate that for a device as elegant as technologically advanced as it is, it causes such an annoying disturbance when brought close to a speaker. One would think that Apple would have addressed the issue by either NOT selecting GSM as the technology of choice or using some other technical innovation to overcome the problem.

Sad.

I am sure some Apple fanboy is going to reply with "if you dont like the iPhone then why did you buy it?" or "switch to airplane mode if you dont like the interference".
