curser sometimes disappears

Note to Apple: why is this topic marked "answered" - there's no green star on any of the posts...

I too have had this issue.... Ive been able to "alt - tab" to get it to quit but Im not sure what causes it in the first place.

A nuisance as the use of the trackpad will ( always / often ? ) - cause the cursor to reappear

It is up to the OP = Original Poster to award stars at their discretion. A high percentage of answered posts will, unfortunately IMHO, not have stars, even orange helpful, awarded. Keep an eye out as you browse and you will surely note it.

hmmmm - I had thought that the only was to get a question answered was to elect to have the green star. What would be the point of having questions answered without marking them out with a big icon - such that the public who browse these forums can quickly see, out of the many posts, which one actually contains the "golden nugget of truth" ?

I guess in a nutshell what you are suggesting is that what has been created here is a system where the green star and the notion of "posting answered" arent necessarily connnected ?

Is this actually true ?

also, if what you are suggesting is true then why does Apple put the green star and "answered" bit all in the same box at the top of the thread ? That to my mind would suggest they are one and the same.

It would appear to be incorrect.

Im still suprised then that no green star appears ! strange.....

The box at the top is a status report. It will very often show that solved and helpful are still available even though the thread is marked answered.

If you are still confused, a read of "Help & Terms of Use" by clicking the link to the right may clear it up. Sorry if I was unclear.

okay, a re-reading of this language would perhaps appear to allow this so. I guess the green star notion indeed has been 'unhitched' to a particular post, which is a drag since that implies one has to read thru all of the posts, potentially, to derive the solution.
