PowerMAC G5 - 6600 - & The HP W2207

I have a late model PM G5 with PCI...Geforce 6600/256...I have had a 19" Dell widescreen hooked up for 2 years...no issues ever...I just purchased the HP W2207 22" widescreen...here is my issue...

When the G5 goes to sleep it cannot regain sync with the monitor...it keeps flickering between the desktop and and black...as if it is trying to auto select the input...the native res is the same as the 19" I have had for years(1680x1050)...the only way to regain sync is to completly power off the G5 and then power it on...

I have hooked up the W2207 to another computer and all works fine...anyone have any idea what this could be?? I did see one thread with the same issue and they stated that the 6600 didn't support 22" wide...that doesn't really make sense to me considering the resolution is exactly the same as my 19"...any help greatly appreciated!

Cheers

To Wesley,

Yes that does clear up the issue. I just purchased the monitor this weekend, hooked it up using the VGA cord with the DVI adapter to my MacBook, and it started working instantly. I've had no problems with the image, and the detection seems to be automatic, and I haven't had any trouble with going in and out of sleep mode. When I put it to sleep, I just turn off the monitor, or, if i leave it on, it does go to black after it says no input detected, and then when it comes back on or I wake it up, it finds it again with literally no problems, whether or not i have to turn it on. It just seems to work, period.

Hope this helps, and if anyone has any questions, just let me know...

Cheers,

-Jose
