Switching Logic between my studio monitors and built-in output
I have two pairs of speakers set up for use with Logic--my studio monitors (attached to my audio interface) and a cheap pair of consumer-grade computer speakers for A/Bing my material (which are attached to the headphone jack on my computer). I want to switch between the two speakers when mixing my material. When listening to ITUNES I can go into "system preferences" and switch between the headphones/built-in output and my audio interface and instantly switch back and forth between my two sets of speakers, BUT when playing material in LOGIC, I am unable to switch out of my studio monitor speakers and can't listen through my cheap speakers unless I switch my audio interface off. Does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it? Is there some setting in Logic I need to change? Thanks for any help!

you could attach your monitors and computers to a hardware 4 output mixer and use this to switch between the speakers.
Can you attach your computer speakers to your audio interface? If so you might be able to assign busses to different outputs on your interface. and switch by muting and unmuting the different outputs in logic.
You could switch in Logic by going to Logic Pro/Preferences/Audio and selecting the drivers tab. There you can switch between your Motu driver and built in audio driver. It's not as easy as hitting an A/B switch, but it will do the job.
There's a neat trick you can use - Aggregate Devices.
In Audio MIDI Setup,, open upt eh Aggregate Device window from the Audio Menu. Create an Aggregate Device comprising your audio interface and the system stereo output. Also make sure that you set the Default Output as the Aggregate Device.
Then in Logic, Audio > Audio Hardware and Drivers, select the Aggregate Device as your output. You can then route your tracks to a Bus which in turn is routed to the system output part of the Aggregate Device. You can mute either the Audio Interface output or the Bus (Option-Click on the send button) to route to either of the two outputs.
