This sequence offered by Pong worked great the first time I did it... now I can't get sopcast to stay open it keeps closing itself with a user not allowed error? No sure what to do, the only thing different between what you said and what I did is that my operating system is 10.5, where yours was under Tiger. Aside form that it is all the same, but as I said it did work.
What happens, is that I can sign in as Anon, but after 20 secs it crashes (disappears) without having done anything, I was looking up the channel and it died, I did it again and again and no luck. I uninstalled Sop and installed a new one, still nothing.

Any ideas?

i have OSX 10.4.11 & downloaded Crossover demo.

ive been trying to download and install IE6 WMP7 & 9 and 11(for windows)
i installed sopcast and everything is working except the player. the channel loads up (100) and then nuttin. tht lil screen is pitch black.

i checked the options and there is option were i can use a different player. but when i click on the button, the table pops up and every file supposed to end in .exe

heres my q. do you know any players that once installed they'd end in .exe?

hi there

I have installed CrossOver 7.0.1, and followed instructions correctly to download IE6, then windows media player 7 and then 9. I then installed sopcast 2.0.4 (i also tried with the newer version, 3.0.3 i believe). However, when I open sopcast and log in as anonymous, the program just hangs, with the cursor and an unmoving egg timer (windows icons). Any idea what I'm doing wrong or should try instead? Do I have to create an account?...

Thanks!

I got the same exact problem, then realized i had installed media player 9 and sopcast in different bottles in crossover. whatever that means. i deleted the bottle containing the sopcast installation, that removed all the installation files, so i could just install again to same bottle where explorer, media player and other junk was. Now it works just fine, thanks for other users for tips!

Got it working for the most part - VLC won't work as it drops the feed every 10 seconds - really annoying.

Doing it with Media Player isn't working however. The first link it gives me when prompting me for the codec works - but the download link doesn't work.

I googled the codec and installed it (WM9Codecs9x.exe) - but I keep on getting the same prompt for the codec when I open up W Media Player.

What's the deal? :/

Hi POng,

I need some help -- I followed your directions exactly and it came on and was working for a few minutes and then went down. I got it working again for less than a minute this next time and then the MPlayer went blank again. I know the SOPcast channel I am using is working - and I made sure the "Use Cache" was set in the miscellaneous file, so what's going on here? Please help!

Thanks so much!

Hi POng -
I did a search on sopcast for mac and the best instructions I found were your posts on this forum (8 months ago!) I followed all your instructions and it works just fine but only for about 2 minutes, and then the window in MPlayer collapses. I changed the cache preferences as you recommended but I still can't get it to work... do you have any suggestions?
Sorry to bother you,
Nadia
