Store Hours VS. Genuis Bar appointments

I went online last night and made an appt for the genius bar in Soho. The scheduler had availabilities between 6am-12am. I made an 8:30pm appt and it gave me a confirmation to be there at 8:25pm.

I went today... the store closes at 8pm. Can anyone explain that? Why does the scheduler let you book appointments when the store is closed? It's not even a generic scheduler - it is specifically for the Soho location.

The SoHo store is open for service, but not sales, between 6AM and 12AM. To my knowledge, the Prince Street store is the only Apple Store in the world with those hours.

How do you get INTO the store then?

All the doors were locked. I tried knocking. No response.

It just doesn't make sense (and wasted 45 mins of my time).

No idea. There's supposed to be a security person on the door. That's the way it used to work, at least.

(If you're in a rush to get service or advice, you may do better at Digital Society on East 10th Street just west of Broadway. That's where I go.)
