From all the thread, I summise that in order to have the Apple Wireless Keyboard working on a PC containing only Windows OS, you need to:
1. uninstall all the native Bluetooth drivers (dont know how to do that!)
2. purchase and insteall an intermediate bluetooth dongle (DBT xxxx - see above)
3. then pair up as per normal using that bluetooth dongle.
Surely there is a way to update the Windows Bluetooth Driver to accept the bluetooth signals from this slick Apple Wireless Keyboard that we all love?!?!?!
A supplementary question: why doesn't apple PC-enable their wireless keyboard directly with XP?
Pros:
- more visibility of the apple style and brand
- more influence on the minds of potential consumers to convert to apple
- more sales of accessories driven through a wider pool of useable applications
Cons:
- none!
Solution:
- could any apple engineers/programmers/etc make the apple wireless keyboard compatible with my works PC-based laptop... please!
I've successfully paired my apple wireless keyboard with my Sony Vaio - worked first time, no problems (Laptop came pre-installed with Toshiba Bluetooth Stack). I'm also using the wireless Mighty Mouse without any problems.
I'm also getting the stuck/repeating key problem - anyone found a solution to this?
