I've had this wireless Mighty Mouse for almost a year now and it won't scroll down. I've read how to clean it but it still won't work. Does anyone know how to take it apart so I can get at the scroll wheels. On other mouse's I've had this is what I needed to do to clean the wheels so it would scroll again. But with this MM I can't see anyway to take it apart.
I love the mouse, but can't see spending 75 bucks a year to replace it.
I have had to clean my Mighty Mouse about 5 or 6 times by taking it apart. This in well over a year of use. Rubbing didn't work and my, was it dirty inside. I use it all day for long hours, partly with video editing. Wouldn't want to go without a MM with video editing: scrolling the timeline!
However, I would desperately like a non mechanical mouse.
YOW! You're a genius... My BT Apple mouse stopped scrolling down tonight. Tried your suggestion and I'm back in operation at least in terms of scrolling. I still can't get button options through Steermouse, that worked up until tonight, to come back, but maybe that's a different issue.
I love my mighty mouse, but I have only had it the last two months and already it stopped scrolling. - I honestly thought it was broken, or something to do with 10.5 but no -> the age old 'crap in the balls' I had long since forgotten after retiring my last ball mouse years ago.
Can't say I'm that impressed that I'm having to clean my new mighty mouse already, but maybe it's saying more about myself than the mechanical parts :P
what a scout! opend the mouse and solved scrolling problem by cleaning the little wheels. But you have to be careful with puting them back to their original position. Be sure that these tiny wheels are able to turn. Tx a lot wingdriver...
I love these discussion groups! My pesky little mouse stopped scrolling down and turning it upside down and rubbing vigorously restored it instantly (started with simplest solution first). Thanks to all for suggestions and help.
I just blew on my scroll ball and trough it on the couch. somewhat lightly, taped it on my desk somewhat lightly. and it works fine. I had this problem before and took for ever to fix. thanks to the www. It took about 1 hour to find this page
