24" Aluminum iMac LCD Backlight Issue

Is this LCD backlight leakage enough to warrant a return? What are my changes that I may get one worse or similar? Image taken with brightness set at minimum.

That's not an acceptable response. I have used some pretty cheap LCD screens (at work), and none have had a back-light bleeding problem like this. It's clearly an unfortunately common manufacturing or (worse) design fault with these screens that Apple should have recognized (and probably did) before allowing the new iMacs onto the market. We are all well within our warranty periods...

This is my first Mac and I don't have any experience with Apple support. What is the best way to contact Apple about an issue like this?

The 24" is supposed to be a better technology than the 20" (it certainly looks great apart from the backlight bleed issue), and apparently there are other problems with the 20" displays.

Backlight bleed should not be a complexity-related problem - there is something wrong here.

Apparently this is still an issue because I just noticed this problem with my 24" alu iMac last night. So has anybody that's returned a computer for this reason received one that's not showing backlight bleeding through? Since Apple stepped up to the plate to acknowledge the problem with the screens with regards to yellowish tint, will they also fix this issue?

I'm still waiting on another external drive to be delivered (to take a bootable backup) before I take mine in for servicing (i.e. replacement). I will also be mentioning the overheating problem (if I don't force the fans to be ramped up using the SMCfanControl app, my powersupply temperature - top left - gets to 80 degree Celsius plus under load). I'll let you know how it goes, but I'm not going to take no for an answer - my backlighting bleed on the bottom right corner is pretty extreme.

Irunnoft - I have the yellow tint problem too. How and where did Apple acknowledge this as a known fault? Do you have a link, please? In the UK they are still denying any knowledge... - although they are now replacing my second alu iMac 24" because of this problem.

Thanks

Bump. Any more news on this? After taking my new iMac to a repair center, I still have the issue. Albiet, it seems to a lesser extent than before, but it is still there. Any ideas on when Apple might be putting out new LCD panels? The tech said that he would swap out my LCD panel for a new one, but mine doesn't have the gradient issue or any stuck/dead pixels.
