Mini-DVI to SCART... HOW?!?!?

Hey all,

My question is pretty straight forward, I have searched the forums and not been able to get a straight forward answer.

How do you connect a macbook to a television that only has SCART connections? Basically i need a Mini-DVI to SCART cable. These seem to not exist?

If anyone knows how to connect Mini-DVI to Scart please help. Will this also give me full colour and sound?

(P.S I also have those 3 little red/white/yellow jack inputs at the side of my tv if thats any help... not sure what they are called?)

Thanks for your time reading this problem,

Steve.

They are called composit video input.

I answered your other post without the knowledge that you have a composite video input. This changes everything. Forget everything in my other post.

Here is the easiest way to do this. Get a mini-dvi to video adapter. Then you need an RCA cable. Yellow is usually video input while the red and white are sound. You also need to pick up a 3.5mm to RCA audio Y cable. This will allow you to get stereo sound. Example of 3.5mm to RCA Y cable

Thanks for your reply.

Ok... excuse my ignorance here. I was looking at the mini-dvi to video adaptor and i dont get how it works.

Do i plug one end of the RCA cable into it and the other end of the RCA cable goes into the yellow section of the composit video input?
Then i buy a RCA Y cable to go from the headphone jack to the red and white of the composit video input?

Sorry, i just want to make sure i have got everything correct before i start buying all this stuff. Thanks,

Steve.

That is correct.

That is also correct.

The Mini-dvi to video adapter you can get from Apple. Th RCA cable and the Y cable can be picked up at most places that sell audio and video equipment. Amazon UK has one. http://www.amazon.co.uk/109-133-PHONO-3-5mm-STEREO-JACK/dp/B000RMNU08/ref=sr112/202-2843416-8549455?ie=UTF8&s=garden&qid=1187878239&sr=8-12
