Mac Book Pro CPU temp at 84 + degrees

I was currently watching a movie on my mac book pro, When i looked at iStat Pro it showed cpu A at 84 plus degrees. all of the other temps ranged from 78 to 43 degrees. Ive never seen it higher than about 50 - 60 , so im wondering if this is out of the ordinary. Also my fans are only running at 2300 rpm.

Hi Lewk_86, the CPU can reach that temperature if it is performing a lot of work, but it is unusual that your fans would only be at 2300 RPM at 84'C. Does this last for a long period of time? If so, it does sound out of the ordinary (though your CPU should still be safe at that temperature provided it does not rise).
