Any way to rotate video 90 degrees?

I shot a few videos with my camera this weekend, and I had to hold the camera in portrait mode so as to properly capture the subjects. Now when I import the clips into iMovie, the video is sideways. Is there any way to just convert the entire clip 90 degrees so it looks correct? Either with iMovie 06 or 08? Thanks

You can't rotate clips in events, but you can rotate it after you add it to a project. If you want to have it in your event library that way, make a project with just that clip, share it, then import the exported (and rotated) clip back into the event.

Ok, but how do I actually go about rotating the clip? I have an event with about 5 videos from this party, not just that one, but they are seperate clips.

Well I've found a way to rotate the video itself within Quicktime, then I just reimported the clips into iMovie '08, but the clips themselves in the clip viewer appear in the correct orientation, but when playing or scrubbing through them, they again play sideways, as if the movie was never rotated in the first place.

Any way to rotate the clips and make it stick in iMovie?

Paul,

Here's how to rotate a clip in iMovie '08.

First, select the clip. Now choose the Crop, Rotate, Ken Burns Tool. It's right between Voice Over (microphone icon) and Adjust Audio (speaker icon) buttons.

You'll now see two arrows at the center top of the playback window. Click the appropriate arrow to rotate 90 degrees.
