Melodyne or Autotune?

I am on a budget to upgrade the studio and I am not sure on which of the two pitch correctors I should invest. I already tried the Melodyne demo and it is nice, but I haven't tried the Autotune. Some insight from you guys would help make the wiser decision.
P.S. I am a tweaker when it comes to synths, but when it comes to my pitch corrector I want the one which have some presets that will allign any flat notes with just a couple of clicks.

I would also say that the algo in the latest version of AT is a little better than the Logic plug's.

I would say so was AT's version 4, and maybe even version 3!

I think if you want a quick "set it and forget it" plug-in, AT is great. If the singer is generally in tune, and you just want to keep it in check, AT is quick and easy.

It also works well on instruments that need a little love. I just laid down some slide guitar on a track, and though I can play slide alright, it's not my forte. No doubt, when I get a take that "feels" great, the intonation isn't great! AT to the rescue. In auto mode, with the speed slow enough to leave the scoops and vibrato in tact, it makes me sound like Duane Allman. well... that last bit is a stretch... 🙂

But if you find yourself going into AT's graphic mode, you'd be far better of with Melodyne, imo.
