Pink border on 23" cinema display

I recently purchased a 23" cinema display on E-bay only to find that it had a pink tint all around the border. This is very visible when any shade of gray or white is near the edge. I have researched this all I can and have concluded that it is the inverter board. Can anyone verify this. From what I have read, this is a different problem from the early "pink" Cinema displays. Any information on how much this might cost to fix would be appreciated. The monitor is not under Apple Care.

Inverter board or LCD panel...either way, with no warranty you only have two options. Live with it or send it in to have one or the other replaced. You could try calibrating the display but this has not proved very successful in overcoming the tendency of the 23" ACDs to "go pink". Many of the "early" 23s had a "pink" overtone over the entire screen that was more intense at the edges. Later releases had the same problem to a lesser degree. Mine had a new LCD panel installed right before it went out of warranty (not because of the "pink" issue but because it simply failed). The "new" panel did not have this particular problem. Actually, this was the second unit I had because the original one was replaced at about six months out because, not only did it have the "pink" problem on steroids, the USB ports never worked.
