I haven't gotten my iphone yet, it's still in the mail, but I want to have everything ready so that I can get it workign ASAP. How do I port a number over from a verizon phone to the iphone and what can I do to make the process easier? Thanks in advance.
I didnt call them but I think the service is canceled cause when I try to make a call from the tmobile phone it says "The servive you are attempting to use is restricted or is unavailable"
Then your probably ok. Although if you want to make 100% certain you can always call tomorrow. I personally would, if for nothing else then my own piece of mind.
YES! You will still have to pay the $175 cancellation fee if your current contract for that line has not expired. Even though you are on a family plan, Verizon's termination fees are per line (per phone number) not per plan. And additionally, porting your number can take anywhere from 20 minutes to 48 hours. According to Verizon, the phone you just activated will be able to make calls in about 20 minutes...but it usually takes about 24 hours for it to be able to receive calls.
I am currently an AT&T customer. Do I still go through the "porting" process to activate an iPhone? I currently have a data plan as well as I use the web on my current phone. It sounds like I am ready to go (when I do buy my iPhone), is that correct?
Yes. One of the options in the activation process is for existing customers. You will have your current data plan replace with the iPhone plan, but your number will stay the same.
I currently have an account with Verizon, and another with AT&T. I just purchased an iPhone and want to activate it with my existing AT&T plan (I'm in the middle of a two-year contract), but I'd like to port the number from my Verizon account, which I will obviously be closing. When I try to activate as an existing AT&T customer, there is no option for porting or changing the phone# associated with the account.
I am getting an iPhone in a few weeks and I was wondering since I am on a family plan, when I transfer my number to AT&T will it cancel my whole plan and different lines on the family plan or will it just cancel my number. The family plan is Sprint/Nextel.
I'm getting my iphone on tuesday. while i'm waiting, i was wondering if it was possible to port my phone number since i have a pre-paid phone from boost/nextel; powered by sprint.
As stated the itunes activation allows that as one of the options, but port-in's can take as long as 72 hours, that is. for the components to work effectively. ( In- bound, Out-bound calls and emails)
I just got my iphone and did not see a message to port numbers. I have been a at&t suscriber for a long time now. How do i port the number after i have already activated my Iphone?
I want to buy an I-phone but first i want to now if its going to work in argentina with a number of Argentina and putting a chip from an agency of Argentina.??? please if you can answer me to my e-mail
i want to now if its posible put a chip and the same number that im using now from argentina to an i-phone so i can use it here in argentina? please if you can answer me to my e-mail
Call AT&T. When you activated the iPhone, you should have gotten a screen with four options: for existing AT&T customers to add a line or to put the iPhone on your old line and add a data plan, and for non customers to port your number from your previous carrier, or to open a new account without porting the number. So I suggest you call, and tell them you couldn't switch your number.
