iTunes 7.4 and 'closed captioning'

Could someone explain how to add close captioning to current movies (.srt files?) and to post pictures of iTunes purchased movies with closed captioning enabled?? This is a new feature that I expect for a while. Does multi languages is also supported (but not documented)? Tia, E.

I'm not quite sure I understand your question. You can add closed captions to Quicktime movies using MAGpie. However, it appears that the new iTunes will only render captions for purchased video.

I'd like to see the spec under which they're creating the captions, but my guess is, you won't be able to add captions, as iTunes will expect them to be embedded in the binary download. (I am only speculating here, as I haven't seen any iTunes captioning spec, but that's my guess.) You can add captions and toggle them on and off in Quicktime, however.

I'm curious to know how this is going to pan out for AppleTV.
