Job Accounting/Device Settings Canon IR3220

I have come to the realization that this printer does not like my iMac!

At our office we have IDs to print on our CanonIR3220 and until a couple days ago, every time I printed I would be prompted to enter my 4 digit ID before it would print. Now it prints automatically. This is no problem to me, but unfortunately every account has to have a 4 digit ID according to office rules.

I have installed the imagePASS driver for Intel based Macs and it still isn't asking me for an ID. I can't find it anywhere in the menus to turn this function on.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what may be going on or what I am overlooking?? I have even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the printer and that's not working either.

Help!!!

iMac, Mac OS X (10.4.9)

The imagePASS driver doesn't provide a pop-up for Job Accounting (aka Dept ID). Only the Canon PS driver does this. You need to determine first of all if your iR C3220 is using an imagePASS print controller or the internal Canon board. The imagePASS controller is a white box that hangs on the back of the iR C3220. It will have an Ethernet cable and another cable running from it to the side of the iR C3220.

If you do have the imagePASS, then when you print, click on 'Copies and Pages' and select 'Owner Information'. Here you can enter your Dept ID and password.

If you don't have the imagePASS, then you need to remove the imagePASS driver and install the Canon PS driver for OS X. Looking at the Canon Oz web site the latest version is 1.80.

The imagePASS driver should not cause any trouble if you leave it on the Mac, so I would just add the Canon PS driver. Once you have the Canon software installed and the driver added to the printer list, you can set the Dept ID pop-up by opening an application, selecting the Canon PS driver, and then select the Special Features menu. Here will be the Job Accounting tab and if you select it, you will see the 'Confirm ID/Password when Printing' checkbox. Tick this and then enter you ID/pwd.
