Frequency bar chart

Hi all

How do I produce a chart from a column of numbers which will show a standard frequency bar chart? i.e. Frequency on the y axis, n on the x axis: f of 1, f of 2, f of 3 ... f of n.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I know of no direct way to have number make a frequency or histogram chart. A frequency table can be computed and a bar chart made of it to create something like a histogram. I have made an example Numbers file illustrating a technique, though it is not as flexible as I had hoped. A zip of this file can be downloaded from the following page by clicking on the yellow "Click here to start download" button.

I had hoped to automatically compute the bins by analyzing the range of data values. And while I was able to accomplish that, I could not figure out how have them appear as labels on the bar chart. So, as it stands, the bins must be manually adjusted to accommodate the data range.
