Did you try it already? Make sure you record your disc in Video mode, not VR mode, and to finalize the disc before connecting the camcorder to the Mac by USB cable. You should then be able to import the clips directly into iMovie '08.
How'd you do it?? I've tried several times, and can't get my video to load up. I'm using a DVD-R, not an RW. I went to the Panasonic sight. They're now tied in with Pixeta, and their software won't install on Leopard.
Try using only DVD-RW disc (not DVD ROM/-R/+RW) and format as "Video" mode. When you are done shooting finalize the disc. Then iMovie should recognize the video. It took me forever to figure this out and I pretty much gave up until someone else figured it out. Hope it helps.
Someone who has managed this! But
I still can't do it! I've used Video mode, finalised disc, attached USB lead, set camera to playback mode, open iMovie 08 and still can't import the video. DVD player starts, so I exit it. But i still can't get video onto mac.
Thanks AppleMan.
I made sure that iMovie open before turning camera and as opened it up a software update for iMovie offered. And now it seems fine.
Thanks to all for help
