Cropping PDF in Preview

Hello,

I am scanning in multiple pages into a PDF and I cannot crop any of the pages, as the option is grayed out. If I scan only one page into a PDF then I am able to crop. Any ideas? I have looked in Preview help and I see no limitations listed for cropping, it should work on multi page PDF's as well, unless I'm missing something..

Thanks

Hi eww,

What I am doing is scanning multiple pages of a book into one PDF file using the Scansoft utility that came with the Canon scanner (worked great). I am then opening the PDF file with Apple Preview. If I have a PDF with one page then I can crop fine in Preview, on the other hand if it is a multi page PDF then I cannot seem to do this with Preview. This is just a way to clean up the pages for better viewing and would much rather use this built in solution to OS X then to go out and buy something such as Adobe Reader.

Thanks

If you don't get a solution, consider this alternative.

Scan each page & save as a single page. Then do your cropping with Preview. Then put all the single PDFs into a multiple page PDF using:

You can combine individual PDFs into one PDF using one of these freeware utilities.
