Is the iTunes store not working? Everytime I try to access the store I get the following message:

iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store
Make sure your network connection is active and try again

Now the funny thing is that one of the podcasts I subscribe to downloaded automatically. Every other network/internet function of my MacBook is working fine.

Yup. I can't access the iTunes Store, either. And it happened right after I downloaded the latest version of iTunes. Version 7.4.2(4). Apple? Are you listening?

I haven't downloaded a new version in the last few weeks, so I don't think that's it.

No offense here, hollym, but the iTunes Store servers being down is totally unrelated to any "problems" you've had since you switched from a PC to a Mac.

Same for me... on my MacBook... however on my roommate's Windows PC, and when I am running iTunes through Parallels Desktop... iTunes store is working. Weird.

Yeah, but I haven't downloaded that version and I'm having the same problem. Plus, I downloaded music yesterday and the day before with no problem. ???

Thank you. I'm not the only getting that message. And by the way, I'm running a PC, one that I know inside out and keep in top shape. Time to blame Apple and the iTunes store fully for this one.

I'm down too but I haven't installed the update yet. It was working 15 minutes ago and now I get the "check the network" message. Bummer.
