iTunes Ringtone - icon there - no ringtone available

I have the latesr iTunes - bought an iPhone - bought some music just to get the Ringtone - the Ringtone icon is present in iTunes Store and on my Mac Itunes, but the Create Ringtone pull down is dimmed.

How do I get the ringtone or my money back for purchasing this song since I only wanted it for the ringtone.

Not happy (Is there no customer service number? Can't find one.)

Did you try to click on the bell? As far as I know you can do that, or right click on the song itself and scroll down the "Create Ringtone". Either of these should work.

I've only attempted ringtone purchases via iTunes/in iTunes, so I don't know the procedure in the store, if in fact there is one. So my above comment is within the confines of my current music that shows bells.

Yes - clicking on the bell shows nothing other than clicking anywhere else. (iTunes Store) There is no submenu item for purchase of the ringtone.

Now that the song is in the purchased list on iTunes - for this song - there is NO icon for ringtone - maybe this is because I have downloaded at 256k. There is still one on the iTunes store Web site.

Just checked it again - no ringtone icon once I purchased the song. The song still has the ringtone icon on iTunes Store - there is a database problem I suspect. Sloppy!

Ugh

Thanks for the help QuickDraw. Appreciated.

Wow - I have the ringtone function panel working.

Reauthorize - I would have never guessed - but I think I heard someone talk about that on MacBreak weekly before I bought my iPhone - so there ya are.

Thanks to both of the repliers.

My problem is solved - although I am not happy with the reauthorization hit - Sound like legal stuff to me.

Thanks again

Sorry...at this time, I do not...mine all just vanished as well and my own fix aint fixin it...workin on it as I type. Will update once I figure it out.

UPDATE: I just went into Edit; Preferences; General Tab...I placed a check mark in Show Links to the iTunes Store and all of my ringtone bells showed up again. Don't know if this is a perm fix or just activated something else...but try it and see what happens. Let me know the results, please

Good Luck

UPDATE #2...That was not the fix...Seems like there is a new bug with 7.4.2 Every time I go to Help and click on check for updates it causes my ringtone symbol to appear/disappear. This is obviously something that will have to be addressed by Apple in a future patch. I have no fix other then if your bells vanish then just click on the check for updates to see if they come back. Thats it for now....Good Luck

Concerning this problem of the bells not showing up, this has continued to happen to me as well and all I've had to do is right click on the song (actually any song that I know is cleared for ringtones) and scroll down to "create ringtone" and everything works out fine. This has been my experience anyway. Hope you all get it worked out soon. Man typing this all out on the iPhone is time consuming 🙂
