I have my backlight set to 10 seconds. After 10 seconds, the screen dims and you can still see the artwork, artist, song, album of the current song. However, after a minute or so the screen changes to a digital clock with a play button, battery change indicator, however the song information is no longer displayed. Has anyone found a way to change this behavior, so that the backlight still turns off but the song information remains in the display?
I like to be able to see the artist and name of song playing without having to unlock the device.

Unfortunately, there's no way to opt out of it. We're stuck with it. It really annoys me: I want to look down and see what's playing or how long it's got to run, not what time it is.
I echo this frustration. Come on Apple, if you are going to change the main screen, make it configurable.
I use my Nano to listen to podcasts . . . a lot of podcasts. I am constantly checking the screen to see how much time is left in the current cast. Insane that I have to touch the scroll wheel and engage the backlight to see this information.
