Hi - I recently bought a SONY DCR-HC28 to download a lot of footage into a project, but
Final Cut Express doesn't recognise it. Has anyone got these 2 working together ? Any tips ?
I'm having exactly the same problem; just got the HC28 camcorder. Have tried connecting it to my Macbook with a FW 4 to 6 pin cable; no luck at all. I know that my FW port is working, but the camera is not recognized. I have iMovie not Final cut. Have you tried your 4 to 4 pin solution with an adaptor....it seems crazy to have to go to such lengths! Any help mostgratefully received
cheers
chris
Actually I just tried again and it works just fine! I hate to admit this but I think perhaps I didn't have the FW cable properly pushed into the camera! Anyway, I opened up Imovie and my camera footage was ready to import.
Since I don't do tapes anymore but need a cheap miniDV for all my old stuff the DCR-HC28 seems to be quite a bargin. And you are saying that the qualifying list doesn't matter. Still, it seems that the forum is not totally agreeing on wether the HC28 works or not with FCP/FCE.
