Creating an iDVD without a theme

I have created a simple slideshow in iPhoto. When I go to export it to iDVD so that I can burn a DVD, I can't seem to avoid using a theme. All I want to do is burn this simple slideshow onto a DVD. Is there a way to avoid all the fancy themes?

I tried to follow your directions but somehow I couldn't get beyond dropping the slideshow into place. I couldn't find the second screen which you show as black.

Are there some details in the directions that I need?

What I am trying to do is create a DVD of a slideshow that I have assembled from photos taken at an Eagle Scout Ceremony. I want to give it to the family in a form they can easily view.

If you have a simpler method for doing this, let me know.

I couldn't find the second screen which you show as black.

You have to create that in another application - Photoshop Elements, etc.

Hi, Mary!

If iDVD looks complicated for you to make a theme-less dvd for your photos, you can try iPhoto for this. It has a slideshow feature and you can add music to it too.

I have already created an iPhoto slideshow with music. What I am trying to do is share this via a DVD that will play on a DVD player on a TV.

Can I do this directly from iPhoto without using iDVD?

Mary,

Have you gone throught the iDVD tutorials at http://www.apple.com/ilife/tutorials/#idvd

iDVD is easy to use, but it DOES require a little effort to learn on your part.

The iDVD help files have an entry: Creating a DVD without a theme that should help

Search the iDVD help files using the term 'auto start' (without the ' ') and select Creating a DVD without a theme

I appreciated the many suggestions. It took several before someone directed me to the correct part of iDVD help menu. This is what finally solved the problem for me.
