safari won't open certain websites

I am sorry if this already has a thread but I couldn't find it. My question is whether anyone can give me some advice about how to get over the problem of safari not opening certain websites. I have followed Apple's suggestion's to add "index/html" following the address but it does not work. They also suggest to contact each websites adminstrator which I don't have the time as there are a number of websites in which I have encountered this problem. Also, it seems to be a deficiency of the Safari rather than the other websites. How do I get over this obestacle? TX!

I've been having the exact same problem since I upgraded to Leopard.

For me it's been a couple of sites i visit frequently: pol.dk and facebook.com
First it was facebook, and I wrote to facebook for tech support, but they weren't able able to help me out before it suddenly started working again (I think it was the next day).
Now it's pol.dk (again, for the 2nd or 3rd time) that's not working.

It seems to be pretty random when the sites work.

For me it's limited to Safari (Firefox and Camino work just fine), and I have tried emptying the cache and even resetting Safari.
Before the Leopard upgrade I was using Safari 3 BETA with no problems.
