iPod Touch 1.1.1 released in iTunes

Looks like neg blacks are fixed in 1.1.1

I'm not sure it has been fixed. People might not notice that after updating their unit to 1.1.1 the brightness might have been reset. Maybe they can't tell the difference.. Or am I wrong.. Help me out..

ok, I'm Week 37 w/ 1.1.1 now, and I can categorically state my negative black/ shimmer has been fixed, not masked or hidden, but fixed.

I wrote here on Tuesday about a specific place in a Massive Attack video where a shadow passing across someone's jacket looked like a hologram ghost, that is now rendering perfectly, I am 100% convinced of this.

As an aside, does anyone else think the Synch speed has improved, i thought i noticed stuff copying faster.

does it pass LCD test ???

They fix one of those most widely talked about problems in their recent history and they give it a minor version number! hehe **bows down at Apple's feet**

How about the other issues people were talking about? i.e. music crash during surfing on Safari? And youtube crashes as well? does that include on the 1.1.1 bug fix?

It made a pretty tremendous difference on my week 36. The screen is still not -perfect-, but I'll take it. I feel bad because I've spent all day complaining to two different Apple Stores about an exchange.

Has anyone with a week 38 with a good screen applied the update?

Can you report your results? does it improve the display even more? does it make it worse? not notice a difference?

Week 37. My screen, which was a good friend of the negative black issue, has sworn it off forever! Did multiple tests, the famous silence of the lambs clip, etc. What can I say. I am totally pleased. It looks great.

Hardware, firmware, who cares. Yay firmware update.

p.s.- This is coming from a massive skeptic. I was looking for every possible problem here, reciept in hand.

anyone know if this fixes the malfunctioning smart playlists?
